Aruba goes for the Guinness Book of World Records
This is hot, hot news: the upcoming Flora’s Caminata of the Clown Doctors is going to get a sizzling twist. Aruba is going to try for a place in the Guinness Book of Records and become known as the spot where the most people, young and old, are walking in a parade wearing a clown’s nose. So Aruba needs all of you: come and join the Caminata, get your nose painted bright red and be a part of this amazing effort that will put Aruba on the Guinness map!
Besides all locals, we invite as many visitors to the island as we can to come and join us in this fun happening. Imagine coming home and saying that you were part of this super Aruba promotion! Do come!
As the Clown Doctors only heard the news of the acceptance by the Guinness Book of Records on the 17 April, they are working in overdrive to get everything arranged. Notary Public Tjon Ajong will officiate during the effort and meticulously count all those who register. Flora Market and the Clown Doctors of Aruba hope that everyone, and we do mean everyone, will join them in this unique and unusual effort of putting Aruba on the map as a clowns’ paradise. For more information, please call 7492477.
The Caminata starts at 5.30 pm on Saturday, 21st April. Registration starts at 4.30 pm. For the first 300 participants is a tee-shirt. The raffle winner gets a trip to Disney World for 2 persons, but there are also other prizes and surprises!
Workshop
Posted: 3/30/2007

The clowndoctors were back at school for several times, when Phil Mann, mime specialist, taught them most interesting workshops at Colegio Arubano.

Phil, who is from the North of England, but resides in Australia, started off with exercises of the eyes and loosening of the face before he got to the body. Incredible, how just small adjustments in body language convey different moods and attitudes.

Aruba's clowns cry and laugh during workshop to Belgium

Five Aruban clowns spent a most interesting week in Belgium in September. Invited by the Belgian Cliniclowns, they went to this wonderful country in the company of godmother of the Clown Doctors of Aruba, Rona Coster and boardmembers Peter Balličre and Heleen Bongers. The object was to learn as much as they could from the Belgian counterparts, and, as the Cliniclowns have been visiting hospitals for quite a few years now, the wealth of experience that came across was overwhelming.

Especially the visits to the various hospitals, among them cancer hospitals for children, were emotional and made a deep impression on the clowns. The workshops kept them talking, evaluating and honing their new-found knowledge and skills.

Antwerp was the perfect setting for this invaluable week: the weather was gorgeous, everyone was super focused and, besides the many hidden tears for the young children in the hospitals, there was a lot of laughter.

Clown Doctors up, up in the sky!
Aruban clowns go up in a balloon.
Five clowns of the Clown Doctors Aruba Foundation and godmother Rona Coster got a wonderful surprise when they were in Belgium for a workshop: they were treated by the Belgian Cliniclowns to a trip in the sky per balloon!
A bit scared at first, but later enjoying the beautiful voyage to the max, the group drifted from Antwerp to Hulst in Zeeuws Vlaanderen, Holland in a mere hour. What a blast!
